It is a privilege for me to extend my warm welcome to the official website of SMP Islam Al Azhar 56 Malang (SMPIA 56 Malang) which has been operating in the tranquil area of Kedungkandang located at the suburbs of Malang since 2023. With a humble start of only 8 students in 2023, the enrolment of students has experienced tremendous growth in which the total number has reached to 29 students in this year, 2024. The positive growth in the number of students’ enrolment indicates that the academic and non-academic teams have the consistency and strengths to provide a high-quality learning experience with improved academic performance, as well as increase the quality of education the students receive here.
SMPIA 56 Malang goals is under management of the prestigious Yayasan Pesantren Islam Al Azhar (YPI Al Azhar) which has more than 220 schools in Indonesia. Our School is always inclusively enhancing and intensifying the quantity and quality of education systems delivered to meet the national and international standards in order to drive improvements in the quality of the learning in students to excel in their studies.
With quality education, SMPIA 56 Malang will be able to maintain its encouraging reputation and thus, pursue and expand the market in the near future. As Abu Bakar As-Siddiq (R.A.) says “knowledge is the life of the mind”, our school provides conducive learning environment, aligned with the school’ well-made visions and missions, to ensure that students are inspired to become a thoughtful, independent, as well as well-rounded individual with good academic performance and pleasant personality. Here, the greater emphasis goes to Islamic values or Adab and perspectives that are applied in the formal education, i.e., Adab Curriculum, and also the informal education that happens outside the classroom, for instance, Morning Testimony, Congregational Prayers, Tahsin, Tahfidz, Tarjim, Ta’dib, Khutbah etcetera. Our Islamic curricula are constantly and prudently being monitored by a respectable Educational Supervisor from Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education YPI Al Azhar in order to preserve the state of the art of the Islamic teaching methodology and curricular contents.
With the understanding that young people tend to have greater need and interest for outdoor activities, comprehensive facilities for sports and games are available in our school compound such as beautiful garden, swimming pool, football field, futsal pitch, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and archery. For learning part, almost all of the classes are equipped with ICT and internet facilities apart from computer, science and physics laboratories. The advanced ICT facility is not only to empower, promote change and foster the development of 21st century skills in students, but also to help the teachers become fully equipped with the latest technology that can be utilized in the classroom.
I strongly believe that this school is creating more opportunities to unleash the students’ potential in molding competent Islamic graduates as well as good and responsible global citizen. The teaching staff that come from reputable and pretigious universities both in Indonesia and overseas, are well-qualified and committed in serving and providing a world-class education for the muslim world leaders of tomorrow.
